     高雄市長久以來就是一個工業發展蓬勃的城市,廠房與煙囪亦成為高雄人對都市景觀的意像,中都唐榮磚窯場即是最具代表的工業遺址,民國92年4月16日高雄市政府公告台灣煉瓦會社打狗工廠(即俗稱中都唐榮磚窯場)內的[八卦窯一座]、[煙囪兩座]、[隧道窯(含鐵道)一座]、[倒焰窯三座]、[實驗窯一座]、[紅磚事務所]指定為古蹟,93年2月25日公告[東北角倒焰窯一座]登錄為歷史建築

        後因多項調查研究,認為中都唐榮磚窯場具有見證高雄工業發展的歷史意義,內政部進於94年3月11日將市定古蹟部分指定為國定古蹟,並劃設保存區,成為都市的珍貴文化資產

-中都唐榮磚窯場,面九如路方向景觀

        計畫目標在於"具文化內涵之都市在發展",期以中都磚窯場之再利用,帶動高雄市中心地區在發展,進而積極推展20世紀後期東西方各活力城市,－具有複合精神之城市再發展型態,比計畫目標設定為後工業時代產業再發展的課題,將以[融入海洋都會精神,再造工業城市風情]作為中都生活圈之新內涵,其主要重點在於重新定位中都社區在於高雄市核心所扮演的角色,另一方面創造新市中心與親水環境的人文景觀,促成大規模產業轉型與空間再發展,其主要目的包括：

1：結合基地週邊水岸,生態綠地等景觀資源,改善地區生活品質

2：保存古蹟建築體完整性,形成融合古蹟歷史環境的現代化都市型態生活品質

3：透過文化創意產業的推廣,觀光旅遊的結合,文化與教育的傳承等,以增添都市生活多元文化,創造永續發展的產業

2: Save the physical integrity of historic buildings, historic monuments form a fusion type of environment, quality of life for modern city

3: through the promotion of cultural and creative industries, the combination of tourism, cultural heritage and education, in order to add multi-cultural city life, and create sustainable development of the industry
